GUESTS AT SOCIAL FUNGTION
TOURING CITY BY BUS Commander, la Haye, officers, and meii of the French sloop La Grandiere, were last evening entertained, fay the Dunedin French Club at a social function held at the Caledonian Club. Following items contributed by Mis* Margaret Elder (French songs). Mr Henry Fleury (piano-accordion), Mr R. Wilson (conjuring tricks), a munity sing was led by Mr 1\ J. Arnold. M. Armand Gazel, Minister for France in New Zealand, expressed hi* pleasure at being present on. such &' happy, occasion, and paid tribute to the fine work of the Dunedin French Club. Guests present included Madame, Gazel, Mr A. N. Haggitt (French Cohsul Agent), and Mrs Haggitt, the Mayor, Mr D. C. Cameron-, Mrs fa. D. Neill, Madame and members of the French Club, and representatives from, the secondary SC The 3 French Club yesterday arranged for the visitors to he taken on a bo* drive around Otago Peninsula, with afternoon tea at the Highcliff. Cafe, while this' afternoon a similar trip was taken, this time by way of Signal Hill, Frown House, and around the city.
