GAS CUTS
NO CREWS FOR COAL SHIPS (P.A.) AUCKLAND, Jan. 15. Auckland housewives will again face a restriction of the gas supply from to-morrow. No gas will be available from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily, and restrictions are likely on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. The reasons are the resumption of business and manufacturing activities after the holidays, and difficulties looming in the coal supply situation. The main difficulty is stated to be shipping. There ere several thousand tons of gas coal awaiting shipment at Greymouth, but it is reported that no crews are available to man the coal boats now at Wellington.
