OVERTURNED DINGHY
TWG BOYS BELIEVED DitOWNED (P.A.) AUCKLAND, January 6. Two boys are believed to have been drowned ‘from a dinghy which was observed in difficultes and was later found upturned off Eastern Beach this afternoon. An intensive search was conducted hv sea and air and the neighbouring coast was combed in the evening for the bodies,, but no trace had been found Into to-night. Tiie missing hoys are Rex Newcombe Hodge, aged 14, and Neville Arthur Bishop, aged 15, of Otahuhu. The hoys were camping with their parents at Eastern Bench They hired a dinghy and were later seen, apparently m dirikuiries, about half a mile out to sea and crying to row toward the shore against a stiff south-west breeze. A police launch and a New Zealand coastguard launch went out. followed by "it air-sea rescue Qatalina flying boat. ,
