SOUTH PACIFIC PEOPLES
INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE AT CANBERRA WASHINGTON, Jan. 5. The United States has accepted the invitation of the Australian and New Zealand Governments to a conference at Canberra on Jauary 28 on the establishment of a regional advisory commission for the non-self-governing territories in the South Pacific. The sevenman American delegation will •be beaded by Mr Robert Butler, the United States Ambassador to Australia. Britain, France, and the Netherlands have also been invited. The commission aims to promote the advancement of the native peoples.
