LEVIATHAN CORNER
ANOTHER BAR-TRAM COLLISION Nt SERIOUS RESULTS . ft ' ■ . i . Dunedin’s veteran tram, “ Big Lizzie,” suffered another mild setback in her anything but mad career this morning when she encountered a small baby car at the Leviathan oorner at 8,52.. The baby was more visibly affected by fhe contretemps than the civic vehicle, which suffered little damage. After halting nt the compulsory stopping place designed to obviate accidents, the tram proceeded across Cumberland street towards the Exchange. The other party to the collision was proceeding north along Cumberland street. On these two roads more warning is given of the approach of other traffio than at almost any other intersection in the city, and the tram, certainly, would hardly be suspected of too much speed. A two-year-old passenger in the car had a bump on her bead, but did not .have to be taken to hospital. No one else was injured". Traffic officers were quickly on the scene to. keep the streetß clear about the site of the smash, and all trace was quickly cleared away.
