ROME BOMB OUTRAGE
Jewish Terrorists Claim
Responsibility
(Rec. 11.5 a.m.) ROME, November 4. ' A communique” distributed by mail by an organisation describing itself as the high command of" the Jewish Military Front in Italy claimed that Irgun Zvai Leumi was responsible for the bombing of the British Embassy. It was selected because it was the ” centre of operations hindering the (repatriation of Jews.”
A copy of the communique, which was delivered at the British United Press Office, bore the insignia of the Irgun Zvai Leumi. It claimed that members of the Irgun were extending the anti-British campaign into all countries. The police meanwhile have brought the number of arrests to 15.
The police believe that the “ communique ” is a shield put out by the real culprits to divert suspicion from themselves. The police are seeking a Yugoslav who worked in the v ßritish Embassy and has now disappeared.
