LAST WORD NOT SAID REGARDING ITALY

(Rec. 8 a.m.) ROME, Oct. 19. Signor Pietro Nenni, who is the first Socialist to hold the portfolio of Foreign Minister, when formally taking over office from Signor de Gasperi, said that he should not want his country to become dejected under the weight of the Paris decisions. “ The Big Four’s won’t be the last word,” he said. “ The last word is never said about the destiny of nations and peoples. The word ‘ revision ’ is- not in the treaty, but it is in things that are stronger that a treaty—in our conscience and our will.”
