GERALDINE MEETING

FLYING HAWK PRINCIPAL WINNER SPRINT TO PICCOLO Under ideal ’ conditions- a large attendance witnessed some interesting racing at Geraldine on Saturday. The track was in good order, although not particularly fast. Several outsiders turned up during the day and some big dividends were returned. Dilbar, who was 15-16 in the betting, won a division of the Domain Trot, and had the pool not been divided his dividend would have been a sensational one. Flying Hawk surprised by beating a strong fancy in Double Cross in the big race after the latter had taken the lead nearing the post and looked a certain winner. Piccolo atoned for recent failures by. taking the' sprint at long odds, while his stablemate, Listen In, who was well backed, failed to reach a place. The unreliable Te-muka, as usual, gave trouble at the barrier, but finally got away well to lead throughout and win the hack sprint. - The totalisator handled £28,581. compared with £22,655 10s in January this year.
