FORBURY PARK OTAGO AND SOUTHLAND TOTE. RECORD . LOGAN REY SUCCESSFUL IN SPRINT . Although the attendance on the second day of the Forbury Park meeting was slightly smaller than - on the first day, a new totalisator record lor Otago and Southland was established. The amount of money invested on the first day was the largest the club had put through, but this figure was exceeded oh Saturday. The club was fortunate in securing two fine days for the ’meeting, although a. cold wind made conditions rather unpleasant. Ihe track was in surprisingly good order, and improved during the day. . \ Logan Key,improved with each race lie had at the'meeting, and, after running, third in the two-mile event, he was produced in the sprint and won narrowly from Imperial Grattan and Play Safe in a spirited finish. Several very close finishes took place, and, had the photo-finish camera been available, the judge would, no doubt, ' have' called on its assistance. ’ The totalisator handled £74,468;—an Otago and. Southland record for both trotting -and racing. This eclipsed last week’s record of £69.315 10b. On the comparative day for 1945 ihe machine handled £56,172 10s.
