BANDITS THREATEN VILLAGES EVACUATION ENFORCED (Ree. 8 a.m.) ATHENS, Oct. 17. Villages in the Elassona area are being evacuated under threats from bandits who arrived at Larissa yesterday, and to-day blew up two bridges. The bandits gave the villagers the choice of joining them or of evacuating. Greek troops occupied Polydendron in South Macedonia, and six villages in North Thessaly. Mopping up is being successfully conducted by gendarmerie near Mount Olympus.
