AMERICAN EX-SERVICEMEN 818 CONTINGENT ARRIVES (Rec. 10.a.m.) SYDNEY, Oct. 18. More than 200 American ex-service-men arrived in Sydney by the Monterey to settle in Australia. Many said that they found it impossible to live in America, on their pay because of the steep rise in the cost of living. _ , Sixty disillusioned brides of United States servicemen, hiost of whom said they would seek a divorce, also returned. Twent other Australian brides were accompanied by their husbands.
