ARRIVAL ON MONDAY

MEN OF CHITRAL DRAFT The spacial train carrying troops returning from Japan by the Chitral is expected to reach Dunedin at 8.84 p.m. on -Monday. There will be 129 men to detrain here, of whom 113 are destined for the city and suburbs; the remainder will proceed to Central Otago. The majority of the country'personnel will be met in Dunedin by their next of kin, but a few will be transported to their homes by.special cars. Members of the draft proceeding to destinations south of Mosgiel will be provided with light refreshments on the station by the Otago Provincial Patriotio Council and the Red Cross Society. The train is scheduled to leave for the south at 8.50 p.m. '• • The arrangements made for the reception of the draft on arrival at Dunedin follow closely those of previous occasions when large drafts have arrived. Enclosures where the men will meet their next of kin will be roped off on a district basis—that for relatives from the northern end of the city at the north-end gates of the station, for those whose homes are between Frederick street and Anderson's Bay road at the main entrance, and for those whose homes are in the south end of the city at the south-end gates on the station. Next of kin of men from Central Otago will be accommodated on the station platform adjacent to the R.T.O.'s office. Tickets of admission to the nest of kin enclosures may be obtained at the inquiries branch of the Drill Hall on pro-, duution of Base Records telegrams or other means of identification; The men will be transported to their homes by cars provided , from the former E.P.S. organisation under the control of the chief traffic inspector (Mr E. H. Barrett). The men will be met at the .station by the Mayor (Mr D. C. Cameron) and representatives of the Returned Services Association and other organisations. If there is any alteration ia the time of arrival of the train particulars will be broadcast as they become available from'station 4YA.
