LIGHT HORSE SOCIETY
MEETING OF COMMITTEE At the monthly meeting of the committee of the Otago Light Horse and Pony Society 24 new members Were elected, and it was reported by the president, Mr" J. E. Brunton, that support was being given to the society throughout Otago. The advisability of creating branches of the society in ,the country districts of OtagO was considered, and it was decided that the committee should proceed with the formation of such branches as soon as possible. The president (Mr A. R, Johnston) aiid the assistant secretary _(Mr I. D Dodds), of the Southland Light Horse Owners and Exhibitors' Association, who were present at the meeting, explained the aims and objects of their society, These were very similar to tlv aims and objects of the OtngO Society, and it was unanimously agreed that the two societies should co-operate and co-ordinate their activities wherever possible. It was reported that the library which the society hnd established at its new offices was now open, and members would have an excellent opportunity of iiicrcising their knowledge of liurht horses and ponies from its resources.
