UNITED STATES STILL EXPERIMENTING WITH LIGHTER-THAN-AIR CRAFT—A navy blimp, equipped with rubber pontoons, riding on the surface of Lake Erie during an experiment to determine the feasibility of navy lighter-than-air craft landing on the ocean and anchoring there. The rubber pontoons replace the conventional metal ones. It is hoped to find these small airships can be employed effectively a great distance from the shore.
