Smuts," London, at Palmietfontein airport at Germiston early to-day, shortly before the mail plane took off for London. The woman was discovered when police, entering the plane in the small hours, found a native tying up the bag. The woman, who was 45, said , she wanted to go to London for medical treatment. She had luggage and blankets and intended to vacate the bag after the takeoff. She added that she paid a native to carry her to the plane. It is believed that she can be charged only with the unlawful possession of a mail bag. Soon after being locked up in an office the arrested native broke a window and escaped.
