COMPANY REGISTRATION AND CAPITAL INCREASES (P.A.) _ WELLINGTON, April 15. Tho Acting Minister of Finance, Mr Sullivan, stated to-day that following represeritations > to the Government" for repeal or modification of the Finance Emergency Regulations, 1940 (No. 2), it has now been decided to amend the regulations to allow of certain matters being proceeded with without it being necessary for the parties concerned, to obtain the consent of the Minister of Finance, Regulation 9 of the regulations, which prevents the registration of any new company without the Minister's consent, will be amended to exempt from this requirement new com-i panies with a share capital not exceeding £IO,OOO. Regulation 11, which prevents an increase of the nominal capital of a company without the consent of the Minister, will be amended to allow increases of capital without his consent, provided the amount of the increase in any one year does not exceed £IO,OOO. Similarly, the necessary amendments will be made so that calls upon shares and issues of capital may be made without consent, provided the amounts involved do not exceed £IO,OOO in any one year.
