"After a course at the Army School of Instruction, Trentlnun, live young men have now been selected as New Zealand's 1946 entrants to the Royal Militarv College at Duntroon, Australia," said the Minister of Defence, Mr Jones, to-day. " Applications were received from all parts of New Zealand." The folio wing are the names of the successful candidates, with brief particulars of their school careers:— John Brooke, received his secondary education at the Palmerston North Boys' High School, where he was accredited a university entrance in 1945. He was school prefect and regimental sergeant-major in the school cadets. He played for the first Rugby XV. and first cricket XI. He was also prominent in athletics, tennis, and swimming. John Ross Clarke was a pupil of Wellington College, where he was accredited a university entrance in 1945. He achieved distinction in swimming and running. He held the rank of platoon commander in the college cadets, and played Rugby and cricket. Ronald Rochfort Harding attended the Napier Boys' High School, where he obtained a pass in the university entrance examination in 1943. He was a member of the second Rugby XV., and was prominent in tennis. He held the rank of sergeant-major in the school cadets. . Harry Bowen flonnor obtained a pass in the university entrance examination in 1944, and a higher leaving certificate in 1945 as a pupil of the New Plymouth Boys' High School. He captained the first Association and first cricket teams, and was a member of the first Rugby XV. He was awarded medals for swimming and life-saving, and was an n.c.o. in the school cadets.

Robert Kenneth Treacher received his secondary education at the Auckland Grammar School, where he was accredited a university entrance in 1945. He was a prefect, vice-captain of the first Association football XL, a member of the cricket XL, and prominent in swimming. > He held the rank of sergeant in the cadets.
