U.N.O. STAFF

TO TAKE OATH OF LOYALTY LONDON, Feb. 9. The U.N.O. Administrative Committee recommended to the Assembly that all U.N.O. staff should be required to take an oath to make a declaration of loyalty to the United Nations and to undertake not to be influenced by any Government or external authorities.

Members of U.N.O. will be regarded as international servants with equality between men and women for jobs therein on a competitive basis. A commission is heing established for their control. Members of U.N.O. staff are not expected to give up their national sentiments or political and religious convictions, but are expected to exercise the tact required by their international status. Members of the staff taking public office will resign. They will also be debarred from accepting decorations except for war services..
