GORE MEETING
GOOD CAST AGAIN FLEET STREET IN SPRINT It was extremely bad luok for the Goro .Racing <Jlub to strike suck a boisterous day lor the opening or its summer meeting on Saturday. After tiie hottest day, experienced this summer, 85deg in tne shade at Gore, heavy rain commenced early on .Saturday morning, and, though, it cleared towards midday, several fcitter showers fell during the afternoon. The weather, however, did not so seriously affect the attendance as it did the investments, for the gate takings, £484 4s, were £7O 7s better than last year, and the investments were £31,767 10s, as compared with £29,229 10s. The rain did not seriously affect the • track, which was in excellent condition, ' 'hut prevented it from being as firm and fast as is generally the case for this fixture. The fields were lighter than usual at this centre, in three of the races not large enough to permit three place dividends being paid out, but did not affect the standard of racing, which was interesting throughout the afternoon. The fixture was excellently managed, and punctuality closely observed. TRIAL HANDICAP, £2OO. 6f. 1-I—Patmos, 8.6 (R. J. Mackie) 1 6-7—Sir Garnish, 8.6 2 2-2—Kassai, 8.6 3 Scr: Lindy Lou.
