M. GOUIN'S ULTIMATUM
(Rec. 12.5 p.m.) PARIS, January 25. - M. Gouin intends offering. three French parties a chance to accept his programme or his resignation. He told the Press that his programme would be placed before the parties in a letter. It depended on the answers he received whether he stayed. The Associated Press correspondent in Paris says the prospects for the speedy formation of . a Cabinet brightened when all three parties accepted M. Mendes France's financial programme. ,M.. Gouin is reported to have to!d his fellow-Socialists that only an American loan of £625.000.000 coukl save France from chaos. Negotiations would begin shortly with the United States.
