COMBAT PLANES
BRITAIN LEADING IN PRODUCTION NEW YORK, January 24. In view of the latest British production figures, military experts are urging Washington to increase combat plane construction to enable the United States to maintain air-power leadership, says the Journal of Commerce. Hritain is either setting down her military plane production more slowly than the United States or developing a higher building rate. The British Air Ministry figures show that Britain is still employing 800,000 aircraft workers and building about 10,000 planes, whereas the United States is employing only 146,000 producing 500 army and navy planes in the next six months. '
