DEER SHOOTING FATALITY. Allan Mervyn Mason, aged 22 of Upper Hutt, Wellington, was killed on Thursday when deer stalking in tile Wakarara Hills. rifle accidentally exploded when he slipped on a rock, the bullet passing. through his -chest on the righb side. Mason was on a visit to his hroiher at the Wakarara timber mill, where he arrived last Mondav. At the inquest a verdict was returned that the deceased was accidentally shot. „ KNOCKED DOWN BY CAR. Mrs Emily Dench was admitted to the Dunedin Hospital at 8 p.m. yesterday, with head injuries she received when she was knocked down by a car at the corner of Oxford street and Anderson's Bay road. FALL FROM HORSE. Roderick Brennsell, aged 32, who fell from a horse at Allanton last night, was admitted to the Hospital at 2 a.m. with head injuries. COLLAPSE AT RACES. Early this afternoon a man of about 60 years of age collapsed at the races lit Forbury Park and died. The police could find no clue to his identity, and. the body was removed to the mortuary. RUN OVER BY BUS. A fatal' accident occurred this morning on Mount Cargill. when a man named A. D. Stewart, who lives at the Y.M.C.A.. was run over by a City Corporation bus and killed instantly. It is understood that the bus had stopped and then reversed for a short distance. The deceased, who was standing behind the bus, and who was reported to he deaf, did' not hear the vehicle moving, and was run over.
