AGREEMENT SIGNED
EUROPEAN COAL ORGANISATION LONDON, January 6. Teu nations have signed an agreement establishing a European coal organisation. The signatories are Britain, America, Belgium, Denmark, France, Greece, Luxemburg, Holland, Turkey, and Norway. Provision is made for the later accession of other Governments, particularly Russia, Poland, and Yugoslavia, who have been continuously informed of the operations of the provisional body formed last May and all the developments ot the organisation formed to promote the supply and equitable distribution of coal and certain types of mining supplies and equipment. The organisation is charged with the duty of keeping itself informed. of European coal production and distribution, including the allocation of German coal export surpluses. This information will be disseminated with recommendations among the Governments concerned. The Press Association says’ it is expected that relations will be established with the United Nations Economic and Social Council.
