CURFEW EASED
JERUSALEM AND TEL-AVIV ARMS CONFISCATED LONDON, December 29. The authorities in Jerusalem have located and confiscated arms, ammunition, and explosives, including two land mines and 22 anti-personnel bombs. The curfew imposed on Jewish areas in Jerusalem will be lifted tervean 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily. Large forces of British troous surrounded the town of Ramat Ga.i, rear Tel-Aviv, and combed tl e area for suspects concerned with the recent raids. The authorities have iif;,d the curfew at Tel-Aviv until further notice, but the ctirfew in Jerusalem is still being enforced. Troops and police are searching ißamat ‘ Gail, and have so far interrogated over 600 persons and nave detained 38. The authorities imposed a 6 a.m. curfew in the village, ami the police have since arrested 30. An official communique discloses that the police discovered eight-land mines, 11 Sten guns, two wire cutters, aid five flash bombs on escape routes leading from the scenes of violence, and adds that four or five men last Wednesday attacked a West African sentry in Tellitwinsky transit camp and took his rifle.
It is officially announced that 10 persons were killed and 12 injured in incidents last night. A clandestine broadcasting station, commenting on the recent attacks, said it was believed the- were carried out by members of the illegal Jewish organisation, lrbun Zvai Leumi (National Military Organisation).
