ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
COLLAPSE AT TOTE WINDOW. An elderly widower collapsed and died while standing in a queue to collect his winnings at the Auckland Trotting Club’s meeting at Epsom shortly after midday on Saturday. He was John Taylor, aged 73, of Morningside. Another elderly man collapsed and died in a motor car in New North road. Kingsland, at about 1.15 on Saturday afternoon. He was William Hall, aged 02. of Kingsland. TAXI COLLISION. When two taxi-cabs collided at the corner of Marion and David streets, Caversham, early yesterday morning, a passenger in one, Mrs S. Orr, of Invercargill, received concussion. She has been admitted to the Hospital. BULLET IN FOREHEAD. Our Balclutha correspondent telegraplis:—Stewart Leslie King, aged 19. a railway employee at Clinton, was found in the early hours of Christmas Day in the Clinton reserve with a bullet wound in the forehead and a .22 rifle at his side. The body was found by James Semple. The inquest was opened to-day, and after evidence of identification was adjourned sine die.
