NEW ARTIFICIAL FIBRE
STRONGEST RAYON MADE LONDON, December 29. Britain has produced a stronger artificial textile fibre than nylon, according to Professor W. T. Astbury, head of the textile physics laboratory of Leeds University. He said the new material, which a firm called British Gelanese Limited is producing., is called fortisau. It is the strongest rayon yet made, and has already been used for parachute fabric and glider tow ropes.
