FEWER ROAD ACCIDENTS

CHRISTMAS IN NgW SOUTH WALEf SYDNEY, December 27. Although road traffic was at its heaviest since 1939, there were few accidents in New South Wales over the Christmas period. Nine persons were killed and about .20 injured in accidents involving motor cars and motor cycles. Motorists had been asked to exercise special care this Christmas, and a police official to-day paid a tribute to the motorists’ caution. The low number of accidents was all the more remarkable because hundreds of patched-up cars were on the, road for the first time in years.
