LOST HOSPITAL SHIPS
JAPAN'S OWN FAULT FRANK ADMISSION OF USE IN COMBAT (Rec, 11.15 a.m.) TOKIO, Dec. 21. Explaining the loss of 19 Japanese hospital ships during the war, Major Kei Shinohara,' formerly chief of hospital transport, said the authorities faded properly to identify them, and refused to transmit their names to the Allies. They stationed hospital ships among combat vessels in action, and often used tliem as armed transports. Shinohara said most of the ships lost were being! used as transports when sunk. None was lost through . Allied violation of the rules of warfare.
