EARLY SETTLERS' ASSOCIATION
Tljo monthly meeting of the committee of the Otago Early Settlers' Association was held yesterday afternoon, and viae attended by Messrs W. It. Brugh, the president (in the chair), J. Dey, Edgar Hazlett. A. G. McKenzie; J. Hope, C. Morris, J. F. Fraser, J. C. H. W. J. Strong, D. C. Cameron, H. C. King, F. W. Knight, S. D. Macpherson. W. H. Adams. R. C. T. Evans. C. J. Hay ward. A. T.'Melndoe, D.. M. Reid, J. S. Ross, and the secretary. The following gifts were received during the month :—From Mr R. H. Welsh, photograph of his mother, Mrs W. Welsh (nee Crawford), Philip Laing, ]B4B, and descendants; from Mr A. de Joux, photograph of his mother. Mrs M. de Joux (Oamaru), Three Rolls, 1858; from Mr G. C. Thompson, votes and proceedings of the Southland Provincial Council, 1861 to 1869; from Mr W. A. Thomson, badge of the Southland Hussars, from Mr J. G. Adair, conveyance of allotment, township of Hansford. ' It was reported that eight clescendl- - had been enrolled during the mouth.
