OVERWHELMING MAJORITY

ISSUES FAVOURED BY DE GAULLE SOCIALISTS AND COMMUNISTS POLL HEAVILY LONDON, October 21. First reports of the results of the polling. indicate an overwhelming majority in favour of the proposal to form a new Assembly, with equally heavy support for the clause limiting the Government’s powers. Both of those decisions are what General do Gaulle aimed at.

The general trend of- the elections shows that the voting has followed lines similar to those apparent at the recent provincial elections, with the Socialists and Communists an the lead. The Radicals have lost ground, and M. Daladier, a former Premier, has been defeated. So far two of' General tie Gaulle’s Ministers, have been returned.
