AIR TRANSPORT
DEMOBILISED R.N.Z.A-,F. MEN RELIEVING RAIL CONGESTION (P.A.) WELLINGTON. October 22. In the last three weeks approximately 4.200 passengers have been carried by air inside New Zealand by machines of the Royal New Zealand Air Force, the Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones, states. The passengers were demobilised 'Air Force personnel, who were transported mainly by Dakotas, to relieve congestion on the railways and interisland ferry. Their rapid distribution was made possible by the use of a number of aircraft flying at frequent intervals, and the service is being continued as the demobilisations supply passengers.
