AWARDS AMENDED
The court has issued an amendment to the Dunedin City Corporation linesmen and linesmen’s assistants’ awards, which is' retrospective to April 1, providing for. an increase of 3£d in the hourly rates of wages, which are now as follows:—Minimum rate of wages for linesmen, 3s OJd per hour; minimum rate for linesmen’s assistants, 2s per hour for the first four months, and thereafter at 2s 10Jd per hour; the minimum rate for helpers in power stations, 2s 104 d per hour. An amendment to the Northern, Wellington, Canterbury, Otago, and Southland moulders’ award, which has been issued by the Court of Arbitration, provides for the payment of 2s meal" ! ifitniey' when' necessary, an Increase of 3jd per hour in the existing minimum rates of wages for adult workers, an increase of from 5s to 10s per week for youths up to the age of 21 years, an increase of from 4s to 7s 6d per week for junior female workers, and an increase of 10s per week for adult female workers. The amendment is made retrospective to April 1.
