AUSTRALIAN EXPORTS
NEW MARKETS IN N.Z. INDUSTRIAL AND AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY
(Rec. 8 a.m.) SYDNEY, Oct. 19
The cancellation of lend-lease would probably result in increased exports from Australia to New Zealand, said the director of the Associated Chamber of Manufacturers, Mr L. Withal. " New Zealand has already switched its buying from dollar to sterling countries, and this has given Australia an opportunity to develop new markets in New Zealand for many manufactured goods." • Mr Withal said these goods included industrial and agricultural machinery, food processing and construction machinery, hand and machine tools, oil engines and electric motors. Other manufactured goods for which Australia should find an outlel in New Zealand included rubber hose and tubing, rubber tyres and belting, tyre mateand hot water bags, industrial chemicals, surgical and dental supplies, serums and vaccines, X-ray equipment, and optical supplies, laboratory equipment and scientific instruments, ball and roller bearings, and metal foils
