GERMAN. PRISONERS IN FRENCH HANDS

(Rec. 10 a.m.) WIESBADEN, Oct. 19. General Bedell Smith announced that the United States authorities had agreed to resume the handing over of German prisoners of war to the French. This was suspended when the International Red Cross reported that prisoners in French hands wore suffering from malnutrition. The French Government gave the Americans an assurance that it would do the best it possibly could be provide food and clothing for prisoners according to the Geneva Convention.
