HEAVY FALL AT ASHBURTON

LAMBING LOSSES FEARED (P.A.) ASHBURTON, October 19. Heavy snow fell in the western, areas of Ashburton County last night; and by 9 this morning it was lying up to sin deep on the flat and to a much greater depth in the back country. Lambing is in full swing in the high country, and it is feared that there will be neavy losses. In some areas snow is still - falling, but so far there are no reports of damage to power or telephone services.
