OCCUPATION OF JAPAN

VOLUNTARY AUSTRALIAN FORGE CANBERRA, August 20. Volunteers for the Australian token force to go to Japan will be accepted from the divisions now serving in the islands north of Australia. This was announced to-day by the Federal Army Minister, Mr F. M. Forde, who added: “ 1 do not think there will be any difficulty in getting them.” It is likely that one Australian brigade will participate in the final occupation of Japan, and that two others will probably go to Singapore.
