"Is it the policy of the Government that before an ex-serviceman can bring his fiancee to New Zealand he must first lodge £l5O with the Bank of New Zealand?" asked Mr W. Sullivan (Bay of Plenty) in a "notice of question to the Minister of Finance in the House of Representatives to-, day. Mr Sullivan inquired whether, if that were the policy, the Minister would endeavour to reduce the amount, as it fell heavily on returned men, who found it difficult to provide such a large amount of cash.
