KATYN "MASSACRE"

JUST A GERMAN FAKE ATTEMPT TO ALIENATE POLES AND RUSSIANS (Rec. 11.5 a.m.) LONDON, June 27. Claiming its source of information as a member of the S.S., Schellenberg, who was Himmler's lieutenant in Stockholm, the newspaper ' Tidningen ' says that Ribbentrop and Goebbels faked the evidence of the Katyn massacre of Polish officers. It adds that bodies from German concentration camps were dressed in Polish uniforms and taken to Katyn. The Germans early in 1943 claimed that they had found a mass grave of Polish officers in the forest of Katyn near Smolensk, and ascribed the massacre to the Russians. The Russians last year, after capturing the area, established that the massacre had been carried out by the Germans to create Itusso-Polish disunity.
