PROVISION. GOVERNMENT FORMED
(Rec. 8 a.m.) LONDON, April .29. Moscow radio says that a Provisional Government has been formed in Austria, headed by Dr Karl Renner. aged 75, a Social Democrat and former Chancellor, and last president of the Free National Council of the Austrian Republic, -which was. suppressed by the Germans in 1938. He headed the Austrian ipeace delegation in 1919. Members of the Cabinet include Ministers who are members of no party, Christian Socialists, and Communists. The Russian News Agency says the new Government is the outcome of a meeting in Vienna of the leaders of all the anti-Fascist parties and public men. They issued a joint communique announcing the formation of a Government.
Reporting that, the aim of the Government 'is the restoration of an independent republic, the News Agency adds that Austria is reminded, however, that she cannot evade the responmbilitv for participating in the war on the side of Germany.
