Acceptances for the Porbury Park meeting will close at 7 p.m. to-day. Emulous ran disappointingly at Trontliam. He is reported to have looked a bit big in condition, and hence might have been sharpened up by his outings there, though two fairly bard races might have had a reverse effect. A passenger train \ will run from Timaru to the racecourse at Washdyke. Tndiau Sun is to be raced on the Hawera-Waikato Ellerslie winter circuit.
llenaseor is being discussed for forthcoming important hurdle races. G. New is at present leading the winning trainers' list. Plassida has been somewhat of a disappointment this season, and may have a change olf trainers. Win and place betting at the South Canterbury and Waikato meetings, and single pool at Poverty Bay. Sorrel, engaged at the Poverty Bay meeting, will be one of the most consistent candidates to parade. His last four starts include three second placings Aqueduct is being selected to shew winning form soon. He will soon have track conditions to suit him. A trip to Australia for Sleepy Fox is under consideration. He has scored three wins in eight starts this season. The weather may upset some of the runners at Timaru if conditions which have prevailed locally since Wednesdav have extended to South Canterbury
Dividend and Rockery are booked to race at Waikato and Auckland. Koa Manu is regarded as a doubtful starter at Timaru. Scottish Rose will not be produced in the Electrio Stakes, and Cobalt has injured a leij Burberry finished a good third in the Great Easter, and is sure to mak«> them go fast in the Doncaster Handicap, which is a furlong shorter. Desert Strife was prevented from showing her true (form at the patriotic meeting held at Riccarton. She may get a better run to-morrow. Honest Sal has been scratched for the Timaru Cup. Nurnie won the Smithfield Hack with 8.10 last year, and has a pound more to carry to-morrow. Being a good beginner lie has a lot to recommend him, but he has not reached o place in eight starts this, season. Peter Gazelle just beat Sumra at Waimate when conceding the latterincluding the full apprentice allowance —l2lb. There is 81b on the handicap between them to-morrow, but this will probably be increased, by an allowance, to 151 b. If so, Peter Gazelle will meet Sumra on 31b worse terms which, however, may not bring them together
