JET PLANES MASTERED OVER AUSTRIA

(Rec. 11.30 a.m.) RUGBY, Feb. 25. Mediterranean-based fighter-bombers scored their first victory over enemy jet-propelled planes when two American pilots shot down two Messerschraitt 262’s in a 25-minute battle 15 .miles north-west of Passa. near the AustroGerman border, on February 22. This is now revealed by a correspondent at headquarters in Italy. The pilots stated that, though the jet-propelled _ planes had an incredible speed, their own superior manueuvrability won the battle.
