SOUTH OTAGO NOTES
(From Our Correspondent.) Obituary.—Mr Alexander Leslie, who died in Dunedin on Sunday, at the age of 71 years, was the eldest son of ' ihe late Mr and Mrs John Leslie, and was born in Milton. He was educated at Toko.: and Milburn Schools When Mr Leslie, sen., died, he carried on the farm at Bull Creek, Akatore. Subsequently he purchased a threshing mill plant and operated in the Milburn and Waihola districts for about 10 years He then went to InvcrcargiH, where he went into the motor business, and he remained in this till seven or eight years ego, when ill-health caused his retirement, and ho took up residence in Dunedin. Ho is survived by his widow and one son John. ■ ~ ~ Found Dead.—Mt Hugh Bartlett, a wellknown resident of Toko, district, was found dead in. his home on Sunday. Dc- ■ ceased, who was 79 years of age, was a « bachelor, and lived by himself. He had ndt been Been about of late, and a neighbour on Sunday mads investigations and found the body. Indications pointed to his having been dead about eight or 10 days. No inquest is necessary. Hockey.—The Mataura and Milton Hockey Clubs played at Milton on Saturday, the result being a win for Mataura by 5 goals to 1, after a game in which the visitors showed better combination.
