TEA ROSE COMPLETES HAT TRICK SYDNEY, October 8! Finishing full of running, the brilliant three-year-old filly Tea Rose easily won the Craven Plate at the opening of the A.J.C. spring meeting at Rand wick yesterday. Tea Rose won by two lengths from Mayfowl, with Flight a long head away in third place. She covered the 10 furlongs in 2min 3sec —only a second and a-quarter outside the Australian record held by Beau Vite. This win completed a hat trick for Tea Rose, who had won the Canterbury Stakes and Rosehill Guineas in great style. After such a convincing win in the Craven Plate Tea Rose will probably start a strong favourite in the Derby next Saturday.
