LONDON, Oct. 6. " Mr Anthony Eden's statement regarding ' American carpet baggers ' in Paris was made the very day the ' Daily Mail ' was able to publish an admission by the New York ' Herald-Tribune ' that American businessmen had actually been going to Paris under the guise of army officers," says the ' Daily Mail.' "Such a blunt declaration is welcomed because it helps to clear the air, and the businessmen concerned in this matter are apparently", being more frank than the authorities on either side of the Atlantic. This is not a trivial question that can be cleared up by a perfunctory inquiry and left without comment. The issue raised is no less than the future commercial relations between Britain and the United States, and it is time the Governments began to realise it,"
