WEDDING
DALZELI MILES. The marriage of Laurence Russell, eldest son of Mr and Mrs L. H. Dalzell, of Culverden, North Canterbury, to Joan Elizabeth, second daughter of Mr and Mrs A. C. Miles, of Lower Portobello, took place in St. Stephen's Church, Howe street, on Wednesday evening. The bride, who was escorted by her. father, wore a trained frock of ivory, brqeaded taffeta, made with long sleeves and softly draped bodice. Her long embroidered tulle veil was held in place with a spray of orange blossom. She carried a sheaf of cream chrysanthemums. She was attended by her sister,. Miss Nita Miles, who wore an eggshell blue brocaded taffeta frock, a tiny cap of taffeta embroidered in silver, and carried a. sheaf of deep pink cyclamen and chrysanthemums. Mr Nelson Dalzell was the best man and the ushers were Messrs F. W. Mitchell and G. W. Holden. The Rev. J. A. L. Carter performed the ceremony. A reception was held in the Crawford Lounge, where the guests were received by Mr and Mrs Miles and Mr and Mrs Dalzell. Mrs Miles wore a frock of burgundy crepe, a velour hat to tone, and a spray of red and pink flowers on her grey squirrel cape. Mrs Dalzell wore a Chinese blue frock under a black coat, a black felt hat, and a spray of bronze chrysanthemums in her coat. Later in the evening the young friends of the bride and bridegroom were entertained at a dance.
