[By Diana.] Miss Judith Drake left for Auckland by Monday's airliner. She will he the guest of Flight-lieutenant and Mrs Gordon Mackenzie. Miss Una Francis, of St. George Court Flats, whose marriage to Dr lan IVilson, of Wellington, took place today, has been entertained by the Misses I. Cunliffe and J. Robertson. The Roslyn branch of the Lady Galway Guild will resume work next Wednesday, March 8, in St. John's schoolroom, at 10 a.m. On Saturday the members of the Tainui Croquet Club were entertained by the president, Mrs Rennie, at her residence, 26 Cavell street. The guests of honour were congratulated on their success at the Otago tournament, and each received a floral spray. During the afternoon trump whist "was played, the prizes being won by Mrs Barry and Hanger. A delicious afternoon tea was dispensed by Mrs ißennie and her daughters. Otago Home Economics Association. Mrs Digby Smith presided at the first meeting of the council for the year. A programme of lectures dealing with present-day problems was planned, and arrangements were made for a sale for patriotic funds. An appeal for more knitters was iput forward by Mrs Glue. Mrs Leary spoke in appreciation of the long association of the late Miss Calder with Home Economics, and members stood in silence as a mark of respect.
