INDUSTRIAL MAK POWER APPEALS , The Otago and Southland Industrial Man Power Committee has delivered its decisions as follows in cases heard yesterday:— The. appeal of the Otago Hospital Board against the release of Dr David Uttley Strang from the board's employment was not allowed, and Dr Strang was permitted to leave the service .of the board forthwith, subjectto his taking employment with the Nelson Hospital Board. The appeal of Alexander H. Walkmshaw against the direction of Miss Florence Walkinshaw to take employment as biscuit packer with Mackintosh Caley -Phoenix Ltd., was allowed on medical grounds. The appeal of Herbert James Paterson for release from the Dominion Lime Co. Ltd. was allowed, the appellant to report for direction to alternative essential work. In a majority decision (Mr A. McR-ae dissenting) tihc'committee disallowed the appeal of Sargood, Son, and Ewen Ltd. against the release of Miss Thelma E. Peterson. The commi'Uee disallowed the appeal of Rodney A. Farry against direction to the Crown Rolling Mills. The appeal against the direction of Miss Joan Amy Carr to Seacliff Mental Hospital was allowed on medical grounds. Charles Robert Tomkinson's appeal for release from Kempthorne, Prosser Ltd. was allowed on medical grounds, and the appellant was ordered to report for direction to other essential employment.
