PROSPECTS OF FEDERAL POSITIONS (Rec. 8 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Feb. 29. President Roosevelt has requested the House of Representatives to enact legislation giving soldiers of the present war exclusive opportunity for employment in certain specified Federal jobs. He pointed out that those fighting for the (life of the nation to-day ' upon their return to civilian life will be in a position to make a unique contribution ,to the administration of the Government. He said the nation should take full advantage of this. President Roosevelt has also directed tihe heads of Government departments and the Civil'Service Commission henceforth to give preference to the employment of soldiers.
