NAZI SAVAGERY
HOSPITAL SHIPS ATTACKED ONE SUNK (Rec. 8 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 26. How the Germans for five hours on Monday night Ibomibed three hospital ships in Anzio Bay, sinking one, is described iby the Columbia Broadcasting System's correspondent, Mr John Daly, in a (broadcast from advanced Allied headquarters. Mr Daly, who was in a destroyer just off the beach when the first wave of enemy planes attacked, says that all tjiree hospital ships were fully lighted. The first SOS came from the hospital ship Leinster. '.' We are being bombed and are on fire." Immediately afterwards _ came' these messages: " Hospital' ship St. Andrew 'being continually bombed, Leinster being Ibomibed again, St. Andrew still being bomibed." A later message from the Leinster said: " Hospital ship St. David has been sunk. Am going to her assistance."
The St. Andrew said: "We are. picking up survivors." The Germans used torpedo-bombers, high-altitude bombers, and dive-iborrob-ers. Further details have not yet been released.
