ST. ANDREW SOCIETY
On Saturday the St. Andrew Society of Otago held its monthly social in the Wilson Hall, when there was a good attendance of members and friends. The officiating party was piped up to the ta'ble by Mr J. McVean. In his opening remarks, the president, Mr D. Minnock, extended a welcome to all preespecially the visitors. During the evening items were given by Miss Betty Dagger, who sang ' Turn Ye To Me.' and ' Afton Water,' * Miss Alison McVean. who danced a hornpipe and the Highland fling, and a playette by members of the St. Andrew Players entitled ' The New Farm Hand,' the parts being taken by Miss Daphne Kelly (tbo new farm hand). Miss D. McEwan, and Mrs McPherson These items were entoyed by all present. Supper was served by the ladies of the committee. Dancing occupied the remainder of the evening. The singing of ' Auld Lang Syne ' brought a very enjoyable evening to a close
